Occasional in flat open areas, scattered through bog, with erect culms, ~1 m tall, appearing mostly bare and dead, dried light tan, with shorter blue new leaves mixed in sprouting from base. Although the flowers and seeds have fallen off, the distinctive upright habit, thin wispy culms, and leaf color seem like a good. .
