Based on 17 Hawaiian field observations in which the observer recorded fruit, out of 43 annotated records for this species. These are people standing in front of the plant, dated and located to the metre — the densest Hawaiian evidence available. What they cannot tell you is whether the fruit was ripe.

Wind-carried. Distance depends on the day rather than on an animal, and a plant left standing through its fruiting window seeds the neighbourhood.

Moves along drainages. Streams and gulches are both the corridor and the priority.
